Fall and Winter T-Shirt Layering: Stay Warm Without the Bulk
Your t-shirts don't disappear when the temperature drops. Layer them right and they're the base of cold-weather style.
Base Layer
A well-fitted tee in cotton or a soft blend sits comfortably under flannel, sweaters, and coats. Choose neutral or complementary colors so they don't peek out awkwardly. Slightly longer sleeves under a sweater prevent cold wrists.
Mid and Outer Layers
Over the tee: flannel, henley, thin sweater, or cardigan. Then coat or jacket. The tee adds warmth without bulk and keeps your neckline clean. Turtlenecks and tees can layer under blazers for a polished winter look.
Color and Texture
Dark tees (black, navy, gray) under earth-tone layers work well. Mix textures: cotton tee, wool sweater, canvas or leather jacket. Avoid too many thick layers—one heavy piece is enough.
