Layering 101: How to Layer T-Shirts Like a Pro
Layering adds depth, warmth, and style. Master the art of layering t-shirts with jackets, shirts, and knits.
Why Layer?
Layering creates visual interest, lets you adapt to temperature changes, and elevates a simple tee into a considered outfit. The key is contrast in texture, weight, and sometimes color.
Classic Combinations
Tee + denim jacket: Timeless. Slightly cropped or waist-length jacket over a tee that hits at the hip. Tee + overshirt: Unbuttoned flannel, chambray, or linen over a solid tee for a relaxed, intentional look. Tee + blazer: Choose a tee in a neutral that doesn't compete with the blazer. Keep the tee clean and minimal.
Texture and Proportion
If the outer layer is heavy (e.g. wool blazer), the tee should be lightweight. If the tee is oversized, the jacket can be more fitted, or vice versa. Avoid bulk on bulk—one relaxed piece is enough.
